Pinzon TV Bench, Natural Review

I bought this product in the Espresso color, but other than that appears to be identical. It is everything I expected. I was looking for a TV (etc) bench for new flat screen TV, and this fits the bill perfectly. It is not as small as last reviewer wrote, but of course he should have checked the dimensions first!! I bought for 37" flat screen, it would be too small for anything larger but is great for that or smaller!
It does require some assembly - very easy but a bit time consuming. (took me 2 hours but i took my time, making sure not to make a mistake. The instructions have a typo on page 4 where it says 6 it should say 4 (pointing to a section of bench). I am happy I purchased this. Pinzon TV Bench, Espresso

Reflections 52 by 70-Inch Rectangle Tablecloth Review

This has become our everyday tablecloth. Usually I can just shake out the crumbs,wipe out the spills with a damp cloth, and put the cloth back on the table, but of course sometimes it needs to go in the laundry.We bought the white cloth and it looks like new after many washings.No stains have lasted through a wash, though I do not know if some of our barbecue, spaghetti, baked beans and other stains would have come out completely if I hadn't used OxyClean because when I have a bad stain that doesn't wipe out with a cloth I do spray some OxyClean on before washing. We bought a second one of the same tablecloth to use when the first is in the wash.Also, the cloth looks perfectly smooth and neat when I take it out of the dryer.

Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge Review

Amazon did have a good price on the item in the picture. The pictured item was listed as Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge for right under $100. I liked the picture and the price so I did an online purchase. When I received the first delivery, I noticed that the item in the box was not the item in the picture, but the item number on the box was the same: Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge. So I opened the box and WOW! What an ugly color! It was Dark Brown almost black and instead of 3 closed filing drawers it only had 1 open file drawer with 2 shelves above the drawer! It was a very ugly piece of furniture. So I called customer service and asked what to do, they said send it back and we will send you what you ordered. I did ask if I would get what the picture indicated. The person said yes, but also added to refuse the order if it did not match the picture on Amazon website. So I sent the original back. When the 2nd shipment came, it was the same ugly piece, so I refused shipment and sent it back. Amazon was very prompt to refund my purchase to my credit card. I am not sure how to review the item, but the review on Amazon is: I will be very careful and picky about things I buy online. I can rely on Amazon to refund my purchase when it is not my fault. While the cabinet itself is okay and assembles fairly easily, I was shocked that the back was made of cardboard.I do not remember seeing that in the description and it was simply referred to as the backer in the instructions.I had expected it to be all the same material.By the time I discovered it, I had already trucked it to my new home at the coast and needed to get it together for some additional storage in my garage.Check the descriptions from this company carefully and ask about the back.Supplying a carboard backer is really chintzy.

Double Media Tower - Oak/ Black Review

Looks are oftentimes deceiving, and in the case of this particular media shelf, that is all too true.What you don't see is that this unit is not really made of real wood.You can't really know that you're probably going to split the "wood" when putting it together because it looks fairly sturdy from the ad.No wonder it comes with a blemish cover-up marker...

All of that aside, it's not a bad-looking piece.And it's a pretty good price for what you get.You may want to find something a little sturdier if you plan to store only DVDs on it because it is prone to tipping over easily.But it's slim and doesn't take up much space, which is good.

UltiMate Garage Storage System - Large 2 Door Cabinet - Price Includes Shipping! Review

I bought 2GA-03 rolling cabinets and one GA-01 double door cabinet. I was a little hesitant from reading some of the other reviews. Unlike some other folks I did not have any major problems with assembling these cabinets. To be clear, I have assembled probably dozens of pieces from Ikea, Home Depot kitchen cabinets, etc. These are similar to other KD cabinets in construction but somewhat heavier. No, the entire cabinet is not made of MDF, only the top and door/drawer faces. The rest is the typical particleboard. I have already had some of the edging start to peel off on the drawer edges. I expect that the edges and corners of the cabinet are pretty easy to damage. On the positive side, the sides rest on top of the bottom piece which allows them to hold much more weight and the post/cam setup that holds the cabinet together is by far the most rugged that I have seen. The posts screw into threaded steel inserts which is MUCH stronger than the type that IKEA uses that thread directly into the particleboard and easily strip out. They are kind of finicky to align but they really draw up tight making for a much sturdier cabinet. Drawer bottoms are another weak point-only 1/8" thick. Better use a steel cabinet for your heavy tools. The top is also very rugged with a heavy melamine coating and raised edges to keep things from rolling off, Nice! One GA-03 did not come with a shelf and the sides are not drilled to accomadate one. The other one did come with a shelf, go figure. The dark grey doors are very attractive but I don't care for the black cabinet as it shows every bit of dust and dirt-hard to keep looking nice in a garage. Overall I liked these cabinets and think they are a nice addition to my garage and a good value. For the price I can accept their shortcomings. If you want better expect to pony up at least twice the price for top of the line steel cabinets.

Safco Veneer Baby Bookcase Review

I needed sturdy, tall bookcases that were about 24" wide for my study. I ordered 3 of these, although not from Amazon. The man who delivered them for a freight company was clearly furious about the weight, was extremely rough with the delivery - breaking the pallet on which the boxes were resting and damaging the back panel in the bottom box. Also, that box has one fewer shelf peg than it was suppose too. Maybe Safco will replace it, but the company I ordered it from cannot.

The shelves themselves are about what I expected, laminate over particle board or some such material. Any screw going into the laminate tears or ripples the laminate a little. The instructions are all pictorial with no words causing confusion to this assembler who has never seen a cam screw before. But, the assembly after the first one went much faster since I had learned all the tricks (for instance, when a cam screw won't turn to lock into place, pushing the pieces together might not work but pulling them apart *slightly* often does.)

I might well have spent more money to buy nicer shelves if I could have found them. But a trip to every furniture store in town turned up no tall, sturdy shelving 24" wide. These definitely serve my needs and, if I can obtain the last shelf peg, will definitely have been worth the hassle, even though a couple more phone calls are in order (to Safco for the peg and to the freight company to complain about the driver - if they can't handle freight this heavy, why do they accept it?)

CLIP ON TOWEL RINGS Review

The rings to this towel holder are actually a shiny chrome-covered plastic.Only the clamp is a satin-finished metal. I've attached a photo that shows the seam down the middle of the ball and the protruding plastic pieces holding it all together.I have 1/2" thick cabinet doors and the clamp is too big.The felt backing only protects the cabinet door - the metal clamp bangs the cabinet frame each time the door closes. This quality is more suited to the laundry roomthan the kitchen.

Prepac Monterey White 2-Door Armoire Review

Right now I am very frustrated because a side piece of the drawer is cracked and I am missing 2 special screws and I have spent the last 3 hours putting it together. All I have left are the drawers. Anyway Amazon said they can send me another armoire and I can take out the pieces I need and then send the armoire back. Ugh. I told them no thanks. That just seems like such a hassle when I'm already tired of dealing with it.. lol... plus I live in a SMALL apartment and don't want the box sitting around waiting for delivery and I can't move around and I live in NYC on a 5th floor walk up and carrying the boxes up the stairs the first time was enough. I don't want to do it again I'd rather have no drawers and put a little curtain up. Anyway, hopefully when I call the Prepac company tomorrow they will be my angels and just send me a replacement drawer piece. I will update the review when I find out.

Prepac Manhattan Espresso 2-Drawer Armoire Review

We got this armoire for our baby's clothes and stuff. It took ages to reach us; the shipping was in two cartons and somehow we just received one of them.Well, we did receive the other one after 10 days (of the scheduled delivery) which was a bit irritating.
We heaved a sigh of relief when it did arrive.The instructions to assemble it were pretty straightforward, but due to its size, it took my husband and my (pregnant) self about 2 hours to assemble it.
It looks very sleek and modern and fits in very well with our espresso themed bedroom.The only drawback is, that at the rear of the drawers, (the lower half) there was nothing to cover the back of the armoire, which might let in dust in the long run.We kept it away from any window, so are hoping it should not be a problem.Otherwise, it serves our purpose and I love the fact that they have included a rod to hang clothes. It looks elegant and classy in its finishing as well.

Broan Horizon Beveled Single Door Recessed Medicine Cabinet with 2 Poly Fixed Shelves 16 1/4" W x 2 11/16" D x 22 1/4" H Review

I ordered the 48" wide version of this the 255048 online with Kitchen Sources. You notice they don't have any reviews here? I think they cherry pick the reviews on their site since there are no slightly negative reviews! They shipped it to the wrong state and delivered it! They didn't discover this, I did! They do not follow up and all you get are more promises to follow up but they don't. So you keep calling back. I gave this one customer service rep three tries before I called supervisor who also made false promises. After three days I have been told it shipped but have no tracking info. I tried to call supervisors boss who is owner's son but kept getting conveniently rediverted to supervisor. Finally was able to lmtc for owner's son but he isn't around. Even sent email to owner in Ireland in the hopes to let them know things are not being handled well. I called
Broan and they had never heard of Kitchen Sources so they don't own the products they just order some distributor to ship it. I got a name of one of Broan's largest retailer who is reputable and called them Warehouse Depot. 1-800-868-8663 and they do not ship by Fedex since 90% of the time with items like this they arrive damaged, instead they freight it out in this case it would have cost 73.00 more. Right now I am very possibily looking at this item to arrive damaged and I think they are inept in shipping can you imagine how well they handle returns?Owners son after googling also has other ventures along with traveling which deals with selling Funnel searching services. What I have been able to determine is that this type of service allows online retailers to track the sites you went to prior to going to their site (has to go into your history I guess) and also follows you after you leave their site. This makes me very uncomfortable and I bet they use it on their site.

Update: They never shipped a new one they redirected the old one to us, which means they lied. They use Appliance Associates out of Buffalo to ship from. So they don't even stock the items. It shows up with the box banged up and when we open it there are several dents all over the medicine cabinet, some quite significant. They shipped it in the box from Broan which is not really designed to withstand a Fedex type shipment method. Also Kitchen Sources blamed Fedex for the mix up and the fact it was sent to wrong address in completely different state. Turns out Fedex didn't mess up somewhere between Kitchen Sources and Appliance Associates they messed up. Again they lied. I did get a full refund but not after I had to threaten to track down all the owners and their family members to let them know how poorly their staff is handling the business for them. I also tried to post review on their site and supervisor sent me an email of it and didn't post it. She just wanted me to know that she saw it. Can you say sleazy?
I have since ordered this item through local plumbing supplier who will ship it slowly but by freight and they do a lot of business with Broan. I recommend you have this item shipped by frieght and use reputable local supplier to work with. If you are willing to wait until the next freight shippment many suppliers will not charge you for a freight charge.
If I had it to all over again I would have bought a Kohler which also owns Robern which makes a high end version of this mirror around 2K. I think Robern has rubbed off on Kohler and Lowes sells some.

iTouchless Towel-Matic Automatic Sensor Paper Towel Dispenser Review

Things that are bad about this product:
1. It's hard to tear the towels. It requires you to tear the towels from bottom up...very awkward...especially if you have dishes and plates on the table.
2. The gripper is not strong enough resulting in you pulling out more towels and snagging the towels in the gripper. You then have to manually fix it. This happens alot.
3. Takes a long time for a sheet to come out. First, the unit retracts the paper, then it slides it out out sheet. Often, it doesn't measure it right and you have to manually fix it. Defeats the purpose of this unit which is to save you work.
4. The hand sensor is wacky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I end up feeling foolishing waving my hand all over the places trying to get it to see me.

Overall, this is a waste of money and time. I'm definitely sending this one back.

Shelf Support 1/4 X 3/4 60/bag 13245 Clear Review

This is a set of 60 plastic pieces. They are almost the same as the one sold by major home improvement stores, except here they cost about $0.2/pc when purchased in bulk. You'll pay 5-7 times more when buying a single piece in the local store and since one needs 4 of these to mount a single shelf, the numbers add up pretty quickly. I should also note that our package came with ~60 pcs, but they were of slightly different size. The first one is the same as advertised, while the second one is somewhat smaller. This is not a big deal for me, since I'll be able to use them for different shelves in my home, but it could be a problem for people relying on using all 60 pcs (15 shelves). Particularly, 1/4" dimension was considerably less, but I still gave it five stars since this is the only place on-line where I could find these at such a great price.
