Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge Review

Amazon did have a good price on the item in the picture. The pictured item was listed as Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge for right under $100. I liked the picture and the price so I did an online purchase. When I received the first delivery, I noticed that the item in the box was not the item in the picture, but the item number on the box was the same: Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge. So I opened the box and WOW! What an ugly color! It was Dark Brown almost black and instead of 3 closed filing drawers it only had 1 open file drawer with 2 shelves above the drawer! It was a very ugly piece of furniture. So I called customer service and asked what to do, they said send it back and we will send you what you ordered. I did ask if I would get what the picture indicated. The person said yes, but also added to refuse the order if it did not match the picture on Amazon website. So I sent the original back. When the 2nd shipment came, it was the same ugly piece, so I refused shipment and sent it back. Amazon was very prompt to refund my purchase to my credit card. I am not sure how to review the item, but the review on Amazon is: I will be very careful and picky about things I buy online. I can rely on Amazon to refund my purchase when it is not my fault. Thank-you!

Media Storage Cabinet Windowpane Doors in Oak Finish Review

This is the 2nd cabinet we bought like this.It took my husband about 3 hours to assemble - he's very careful.The doors on the 2nd one didn't line up as well as our 1st one, but the cabinet still closes and stays closed. We use these as a His & Hers DVD/VCR cabinets. We filled the 1st one, but instead of buying a cabinet that takes up an entire wall, we bought this one twice.These can be easily moved to different areas, wherever the need is.The adjustable shelves make it practical for DVD, VHS, and CD storage.We like the size of this as well because it doesn't dominate our living room. The wood & glass is nice, and the arched windows at the top add style. This cabinet is carried by a lot of vendors for widely varying prices. Buy the cheapest because it's the same manufacturer.

I purchased the 2 drawer cabinets to serve as night tables in my bedroom. They are made of solid wood, not a veneer covering fiberboard. There is no assembly required and the bronze hardware is in place. The only effort that is demanded of you is to unpack them. And that is quite a job! Every effort has been made to protect these cabinets from damage: they are packed in a carton similar to the total packing for mail order furniture; that carton is within a larger carton, & 2-3" of space surrounding the interior carton has been filled with hardened foam.
I do wish that other finishes were available. Mahogany or walnut is easier to coordinate with other furniture.

I am so happy that I bought this cabinet!There are three boxed shelves along the left side of the cabinet that are perfect for storing decorative item or small toiletries.The inside has one shelf and each shelf is tall/deep enough to stand 4 rolls of toilet paper or whatever else you need to fit inside.The door design is a decorative 'braided' look that does not look cheesy, but elegant.
One major thing that impressed me was that it did not feel cheap in construction.The pieces felt sturdy and the unit as a whole feels very solid.So many 'put it together yourself' pieces of furniture are a nightmare, but this was actually stress-free.There are no written instructions on how to put this piece together....only diagrams (which I feel made the process SO much easier).The bags with the parts were sealed, numbered, and corresponded with the diagrams perfectly so there was no second-guessing as to what went where.I had the whole piece put together in about a half-hour.Pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly and even the cabinet door opened and closed without rubbing along the edges.
As for color, it is a dark, rich brown color.It does have very little soft, burnished hints of deep red in a few areas, but it does not alter the affect of the piece and I think was only meant to accent it.I did NOT want anything remotely red in a wall cabinet and after this went up in the bathroom I did not notice the accents at all.I have not bought any of the other pieces in this collection but would not hesitate to do so after having such success with this one.

Bought 2 of these on Amazon.com for $59.99 each with free shipping.I wanted plastic storage compartments for my garage rather than particle board as sometimes snow melting and falling off of the tires can get the garage floor wet.If particle board gets wet it falls apart while plastic does not. The cabinet assembled nicely, with no tools required.The doors shut fine.I suspect that people who have problems shutting their doors have not properly assembled the cabinet.To snap the top of the cabinet into place, you have to have the doors open.They will then close fine.The doors do have tiny holes for inserting a padlock.
