Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge Review

Amazon did have a good price on the item in the picture. The pictured item was listed as Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge for right under $100. I liked the picture and the price so I did an online purchase. When I received the first delivery, I noticed that the item in the box was not the item in the picture, but the item number on the box was the same: Altra 9560096 Shaker File, Wenge. So I opened the box and WOW! What an ugly color! It was Dark Brown almost black and instead of 3 closed filing drawers it only had 1 open file drawer with 2 shelves above the drawer! It was a very ugly piece of furniture. So I called customer service and asked what to do, they said send it back and we will send you what you ordered. I did ask if I would get what the picture indicated. The person said yes, but also added to refuse the order if it did not match the picture on Amazon website. So I sent the original back. When the 2nd shipment came, it was the same ugly piece, so I refused shipment and sent it back. Amazon was very prompt to refund my purchase to my credit card. I am not sure how to review the item, but the review on Amazon is: I will be very careful and picky about things I buy online. I can rely on Amazon to refund my purchase when it is not my fault. Thank-you!

I've had this filing cabinet and matching desk for about 6 months.Both are still in great shape and are very well made.The top piece of wood is at least an inch thick and is very heavy.The entire cabinet weighs about 100 pounds, but the advantage is that you get a high quality piece.My girlfriend sits on the filing cabinet when I'm working at my desk and doesn't even budge.My only complaint was a damaged piece and Bush Furniture customer service sent me a replacement for free with 2 day express shipping, no questions asked.After that I would definitely stick with Bush Furniture for future purchases.

3-Drawer File Cabinet - Honey Pine Review

I saw the other reviews but I hoped anyway.The cabinet came quickly and was easy to put together, but one drawer had a hole punched through it.Target is taking care of the problem and I should have a replacement soon.Filing drawer doesn't close flush to the cabinet, but not really an issue for me.Two things to know about the filing drawer that aren't in the description.The sides are high but basically rectangles with the centers cut out and there is no bottom to the drawer itself.Overall, I'm happy enough with the cabinet.It's the right size and a pretty color.

Modern Filing Cabinet - Espresso Review

This small file cabinet is made by Ameriwood. They have it on their website for a sale price of $159.99. Target and Amazon have the exact same product for $89.99. I got it on Amazon.com because I have bought many things from them and am very satisfied with their service. It looks like I am the first reviewer of this product here. Target has four reviews with a mediocre 2.5 out of 5 stars average.

- One of them gave it 1 star because it was missing a piece and it took Ameriwood too long to replace it. I didn't have a problem with that. I got all the pieces very well packed, sealed, and labeled.

- Someone else thought the drawer was flimsy. I think it is great for files. The mechanism is easy to put together and it works great. It measures exactly 12.25"W, 13.25"L. This means you can ONLY FIT LETTER(8.5x11) documents and NOT LEGAL(8.5x14).

- Someone else thought it looked very cheap, and that the wood veneers look "tiger stripped". I think it is a good thing that it is tiger stripped and looks very nice next to my espresso-looking desk. I use it for my home office.

Some pieces do look cheap on the inside when you are putting it together (which takes like 1 hour). Once it is finished it looks great.

Cherry Finish 2 Drawer Legal / Letter File Filing Cabinet w/Lock Review

I purchased the 2 drawer cabinets to serve as night tables in my bedroom. They are made of solid wood, not a veneer covering fiberboard. There is no assembly required and the bronze hardware is in place. The only effort that is demanded of you is to unpack them. And that is quite a job! Every effort has been made to protect these cabinets from damage: they are packed in a carton similar to the total packing for mail order furniture; that carton is within a larger carton, & 2-3" of space surrounding the interior carton has been filled with hardened foam.
I do wish that other finishes were available. Mahogany or walnut is easier to coordinate with other furniture.
