Queen Anne Style Double Door Solid Oak Wood Curio China Cabinet Review

My wife and I received this curio as a wedding present, and were looking forward to setting it up.Unfortunately, this turned out to be a typical do-it-yourself boxed furniture experience.The instructions are terrible and leave everything to the imagination.The doors had a different finish than the rest of the curio.There were plenty of missing parts, from simple hardware all the way to some of the glass itself.It even shipped with broken glass.It was easy to see how it broke when we finally got around to assembling it.The glass itself is very thin and brittle.On top of this, they didn't even properly fit the doors.

Now, the manufacturer (Coaster) did send us some additional glass and hardware, but never sent replacement doors.We have spent months trying to work with the company to bring this project to completion, but due to their long turnaround times and the flimsy construction of the curio, the incomplete cabinet started falling apart and we have given up on it.We highly recommend that you spend a little more money for a higher quality product, as we will have to do now.

Side-note: the backing of the curio contains formaldehyde.

Cherry Finish Solid Wood Glass Corner China Curio Cabinet Review

My only complaint about this cabinet is that when it came with all its hundreds of pieces I was so overwhelmed that I had to hire a teen to put it together for me.Once assembled, it's a terrific piece of furniture, and a steal at the price. It pieces are well cut and assemble cleanly.The finish is a well done, high gloss cherry.The mirrors in the sides add light in the dark corner where I put it.I should mention the packing too.It was almost excessively packed in boxes within boxes, then taped with multiple layers of corrugated cardboard on all flat surfaces and the glass pieces.It was very heavy when it arrived and took me awhile to drag into the house.It also took awhile to cut through all the tape and wrappings.However, the results were worth it;there was not a single ding, scratch, or scar of any type on any of the pieces.I think I should mention too, since there were so many pieces, that all of them were there.The piece is assembled, in place, and full of my treasures.I'm delighted and may even order a second matching piece.
